One of my favorite things to do is send a good ol' fashioned card to a friend or family member. I love getting little surprises and notes in the mail, especially during the Halloween season. To get you started I'm offering free, downloadable trick or treat cards that you can print out and color.
To make your trick or treat cards you will need:
The file is going to look like the image below. It is best to download it as pdf for printing. It is a standard 8.5" x 11" so you won't need to adjust anything when you print it out. You should only need to download the file and hit print. Once you print the piece of paper, fold the piece of paper in half (hamburger style. So the images are back to back) and cut. Then fold each card in half. Each piece of paper will give you two cards, one trick and one treat.
I use 65lb cardstock that I bought in a big package at a local office supply store. The higher the #lb, the thicker the paper will be.
USPS has some cool Halloween stamps if you really want to get in the spirit. I usually buy a couple packs of these and use them all year.
DECORATING YOUR CARDS
Feel free to use whatever you want to decorate your cards. Markers and colored pencils work great. If you choose a heavier stock or even watercolor paper, you could paint your cards. Stickers are always a fun and easy choice. Be careful with embellishments that may cause problems mailing your card. I've received a couple cards with completely torn envelopes or lost pieces because the embellishments ripped the card open.
ALL DRESSED UP WITH NOWHERE TO GO?
If you aren't sure who to send a card to you can always join my Halloween Card Exchange, and I'll send you a card back. Sign ups close midnight CST on September 30, 2020.
